Patrick McKay hired to lead the Cole & Weber United creative team

SEATTLE, WA – Patrick McKay has joined Cole & Weber United (CWU) as Executive Creative Director. Patrick will lead the creative team and will be an integral part of the agency management team. McKay comes to CWU after a successful stretch of freelance with such agencies as Mullen, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Publicis, Mother and BBDO, among others. Prior to that, Patrick was a CD at both Wieden & Kennedy London, and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco.

McKay brings a breadth of client experience to CWU from across industries including technology, retail, packaged goods, financial institutions and non-profits. He's created award-winning effective campaigns for notable clients like Starbucks, Microsoft, Milk, Viacom, Nokia, Comcast, Honda, and more. When asked why Cole & Weber, Pat says "CWU has been very good over the years at breaking away from traditional campaign models. Oftentimes before everyone else. You can see it when you walk around the agency. They're always trying new stuff."

Mike Doherty, CWU president says, "Pat is an awesome addition to the team. After winning Hawaiian Airlines and renewing the Washington State Lottery for another six years, Pat's talent will ensure we continue our growth and momentum. I've known Pat for years and he's not only a great talent but also a great guy. I look forward to being his partner."

Patrick's work has gained him recognition and awards from The One Show, Cannes, The Effies, The Clios, New York Art Directors Club, the Webbys, D&AD, and the Emmys, to name a few. He's also contributed essays to McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and other humor sites.

McKay holds a BA from Carroll College and an MS from Virginia Commonwealth University's Adcenter.
